Orange Moon Thursday, April 17, 2025 "But God"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe

"But God"

"But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive" (Genesis 50:20).

"And when they had fulfilled all that was written of Him, they took Him down from the tree, and laid Him in a sepulchre.  But God raised Him from the dead" (Acts 13:29-30).

"For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:7-8).

"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called, but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty" (I Corinthians 1:26-27).

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it" (I Corinthians 10:31).

"Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us" (Ephesians 2:3-4).

Come what may and come what will, the remembrance and affirmation of  "But God" leads born again believers in the confidence of His presence, guidance, and enabling.  We cannot presently avoid the challenges of life.  Troubles come, difficulties abide, and sorrows loom in a fallen world.  None, however, approach the greatness of our Lord's promise, presence, providence, and power.  All, in fact, bow before Him as their Lord, and all are administered or allowed for His glory, our benefit, and the blessing of others through us.  "But God."  So long as this simple threshold of grace abides on the pages of Scripture, within our hearts, and upon our tongues, a way  unto peace will beckon with the assurance that no matter what, our Lord will be all we need Him to be, and more…

"My flesh and my heart faileth, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever."

(Psalm 73:26)

Weekly Memory Verse

"The grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus."

(I Timothy 1:14)
