Orange Moon Friday, April 11, 2025 "Infallible Proofs"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe

"Infallible Proofs"

"He showed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God" (Acts 1:3).

One does not long have to be a born again believer before "many infallible proofs" begin to add up in confirmation that the tomb is empty, the throne above is occupied, and Jesus Christ is Lord.  We do not see, hear, or touch Him as did first century brethren who experienced the risen Savior with their senses.  We nevertheless encounter Him in countless other ways as His living presence graces our hearts and lives with unseen glories no less glorious because by faith we "see Him who is invisible" (Hebrews 11:27).

God does not leave Himself without witness, both within the heart and along the pathways of life.  We "walk by faith, not by sight," of course, but we do not live by mere leaps of faith as if we had no reason for believing (II Corinthians 5:7).  Deeply within the heart we know, even if our minds sometimes fail to perceive or understand the presence and working of our Lord.  "The Spirit beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God" (Romans 8:16).  Moreover, the events of life provide ongoing evidence that Someone has taken upon Himself to do things that cannot possibly result from mere coincidence or happenstance.  It cannot be otherwise, considering that the risen Christ is one and the same as the Christ who promised, "I am with you always" (Matthew 28:20).

We do not see most of God's doings on our behalf.  Our minds cannot possibly perceive more than a modicum of an infinite Executor's administrations and allowances.  What we can see, however, bears witness that an unseen Heart and Hand moves in love, grace, wisdom, righteousness, holiness, power, and patience to fulfill His purpose in our lives.  "Many infallible proofs" seems a vast understatement applied to a life lived through Christ, with Him, by Him, for Him, and in Him.  Perhaps eternity will allow our looking back to see them all.  If so, let us rejoice that time will not be a factor in reviewing the "wonders without number" performed by the One who worked "all things" together for our good (Job 9:10; Romans 8:28).

"My expectation is from Him" (Psalm 62:5).  Let us join the Psalmist in anticipation of God's presence, involvement, and working in our hearts and lives.  We can see but a little of the vast and vibrant activity administered on our behalf.  This will be enough, however, to illuminate our hearts and lives with the light that enables us to see the Unseen and the "infallible proofs" that the risen Christ abides nearer than our next breath.  "The path of the just is as the shining light, which shineth more and more unto the perfect day" (Proverbs 4:18).  Yes, God does not leave Himself without witness.  The realization will fill and thrill us as His presence and working does leave us with hearts full of wonder.

"God… worketh all things after the counsel of His own will."

(Ephesians 1:3; 11)

"O Lord, how manifold are Thy works!  In wisdom hast Thou made them all.  The earth is full of thy riches."

(Psalm 104:24)

Weekly Memory Verse

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men, for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."

 (I Timothy 2:1-2).
