Orange Moon Wednesday, October 14, 2026 "Every Moment"

“Every Moment”

Little moments, or rather, moments that seem little, will abide forever in their significance and impact.

“My times are in Thy hand” (Psalm 31:15).

In the lives of those who trust Him through the Lord Jesus Christ, God imparts eternity with its glories into time and its often seemingly mundane conditions, circumstances, and conditions.  Does this moment matter?  We could ask the question at all times and in all things.  The answer from our Lord will always be that the present does bear substance of an immeasurable meaning and magnitude.  We actually know little of its importance in terms of forever, other than one overriding truth that will always be the case in the lives of born again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.  For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren” (Roman 8:28-29).

In any moment, if we wonder what our Heavenly Father is doing in accordance with “all things,” this we can know for certain and with all assurance: for the glory of the Lord Jesus, He works to make us like the Lord Jesus in our character, nature, and way.  We may or may not respond well in the moment as we play our responsive role of faith and subsequent submission to God’s eternal purpose.  The eternally significant work continues nevertheless.  All born again believers will ultimately be “like Him” when we “see Him as He is” because our perceptions and sensibilities will have been glorified (I John 3:2).  We will thereby forever serve as the lamps of His light, shining forth with the glory of who He is, and “the hope of glory” of who we are in Him.

“Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father” (Matthew 13:43; Colossians 1:27).

In such glorious grace and light, this moment matters, as have all that preceded, and all that will follow.  Everything matters, again, in a measure far beyond our understanding.  But not far beyond our faith as we plant deeply within our hearts the truth of God’s promise to weave all things together for the most wondrous thing He could do for us.  To make us like His Son, by inhabiting us with His Son - this moment is about that.  Look back and see all others in the same light.  Look ahead and perceive the same.  Mostly, “look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,” and look by faith unto a Father who purposed from everlasting that every moment would matter in our hearts and lives (Hebrews 12:2).  Including this moment, in which we consider its place among all the others than have been, and all that will be.  “We shall be like Him” requires such continual working of the Holy Spirit to fulfill our Father’s purpose, especially when we consider the inestimable wonder of the One whose image we shall forever bear because every moment mattered, every moment matters, and every moment will matter…

“Beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, we are changed into the same image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (II Corinthians 3:18)

“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

(Matthew 3:17)

“Because ye are sons God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts.”

(Galatians 4:6)

Weekly Memory Verse

There failed not ought of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.”

 (Joshua 21:45).
