Orange Moon Saturday, November 2, 2024 "Risen"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

"Risen"

The Lord Jesus Christ is risen from the dead.  Let us apply this blessed truth to every blessing, challenge, and mundane aspect of our past, present, and future.

"He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come" (Ephesians 1:20-21).

Had God not eternally purposed the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, the wrath of divine judgment would long ago have fallen on a hopeless human race.   Calvary and the empty tomb made possible the offer of mercy to all, and the bestowal of mercy to all who believe.  For such blessed ones, the resurrection of Christ applies to every moment of our present and future lives with our risen Lord.  First, "He ever liveth to make intercession" for us (Hebrews 7:25).  The Lord Jesus made possible both the inception and the perpetuation of our salvation by His ongoing Heavenly mediation on our behalf.  The finished work of the cross led to the continuing role for the redeemed He will forever fulfill: "there is one  God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (I Timothy 2:5).  Only a risen Christ could perform such grace for us.

The same One makes possible all administration of God's presence and working in our lives, both now and forevermore:

"He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things?" (Romans 8:32).

The light that first shined in the dark tomb now shines upon every matter of our existence.  Is Christ risen from the dead?  He is.  How does it affect this moment in our lives?  Is He the source of all blessing and provision?  Is He "the power of God" to lead us in whatever challenge, problem, difficulty, and matter of concern?  Is His gloriously vibrant life beyond life present in the everyday moments of our experience?  (I Corinthians 1:24; Matthew 28:20).  We know the answers.  We must apply their truth by faith to every twist and turn of life, knowing that our Lord's resurrection infuses every step of life with a power "exceeding, abundantly, above all we ask or think," and which "worketh in us" (Ephesians 3:20).

The Lord Jesus is risen from the dead.  The light of such glory shines upon everything in our lives.  So long as this is true, we may and must walk in the peace of our risen Prince of peace.  Faith will be required to know such glory, as we would expect. Even more, we can know the Lord will reveal His life as we trust Him in ways that unmistakably confirm that the tomb is empty, the throne above is occupied, and Jesus Christ is Lord.

Sometimes it seems that the enemy of our soul wins
over and over and over and over again.
But if we could see the Truth more clearly, my friend,
we'd see Christ's triumph over death, hell, and sin,
over and over and over and over again…
Over and over and over and over again.

The tomb is empty, the throne above occupied.
For Christ is risen again, from death glorified.
Oh remember when hot, stinging tears fill your eyes,
the triumph He's shone so many times in our lives,
over and over and over and over again…
Over and over and over and over again.

Forever draws nigh, we will be with Him there soon, my friend.
The trials of this life will be gone when we're with Him in Heaven.
Glories we'll see, majesty without end,
that sing the glad hymn, Christ is risen again,
over and over and over and over again…
Over and over and over and over again.

"Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here, for He is risen, as He said.
(Matthew 28:5-6)

Weekly Memory Verse
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men.
(I Timothy 2:1)
