The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe
"Learning… Doing"
The Bible answers all the questions that matter.
"The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law" (Deuteronomy 29:29).
"May do all the words of this law" can be defined in broader Scriptural terms as responding to truth regarding the beginning of relationship with God, walking in its light, life, and power, and effectually functioning in this present world to fulfill both Heavenly and earthly responsibilities to God and man. If we desire knowledge regarding these matters, consistently opening the Bible will progressively provide all the answers we need. Conversely, if we seek mere mental understanding of God and truth - knowledge for the sake of knowledge - our search will be futile at best, and deceiving at worst.
"Learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law" (Deuteronomy 31:12).
Believers learn in order to do. Again, all inquirers asking questions in this context of faith and faithfulness will find answers. We may require patient waiting on God's timing to reveal, and His preparing us to respond. However, our Heavenly Father will shine His light on the path of righteousness as we seek to walk thereon. He does not illuminate those who merely seek to think lofty thoughts, even if the contemplations are sought in the Scriptures. God rather opens the Book to those who realize its intensely practical reason for existence...
"This is the way. Walk ye in it" (Isaiah 30:21).
Certainly, great, glorious, and utterly fascinating wonders await our hearts and minds in God's Word. All, however, are meant to find their way into our hands and feet as reading, pondering, and seeking leads to learning for the purpose of doing.
"Be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving our own selves."
(James 1:22)
Weekly Memory Verse
"This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
