Orange Moon February 9, 2026 “Yesterday, Today, and Forever”

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe

"Yesterday, Today, and Forever"

Scripture speaks of what God has done, what He is doing, and what He promises to do forevermore according to "the eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Ephesians 3:11).  We do well to discover this past, present, and future activity of our Heavenly Father, seeking to live in the glorious light of its assurance.

"I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember Thy wonders of old" (Psalm 77:11).
"God… worketh all things after the counsel of His own will" (Ephesians 1:3; 11).
"The Lord will do this thing that He hath spoken" (Isaiah 38:7).

The more we learn how faithful God has been, the more we will presently trust in how faithful He is being, which prepares to expect His faithfulness to come.  Indeed, never once has He lied, nor failed to keep His promises.  This being true, and knowing this to be true, we can be sure that He is presently being who He is and doing what He does in perfect trustworthiness.  We thereby look to the future in confidence that "the wonders of old" and the present working of "all things after the counsel of His own will" guarantees the "will do" of His faithfulness in the future.

As creatures constantly impacted by past, present, and future, we must read and ponder the Scriptures to discover our Lord's
"from everlasting to everlasting" doings (Psalm 103:17).  Indeed, the most important aspect of our yesterdays, todays, and tomorrows is not what we have done, are doing, or will do.  No, what has God done, what is He doing, and what will He do? - these are the primary inquiries that lead us in our walk with Him by faith.  Opening our Bibles to find answers regarding the past, present, and future activities of our Heavenly Father will enable us to remember our yesterdays clearly, experience our todays in terms of reality, and anticipate our tomorrows with the hope Scripture promises and commands.  Or, in the sublimely succinct terms offered by the writer of Hebrews…

"Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever."
(Hebrews 13:8)

Weekly Memory Verse
Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
(Hebrews 13:8)
