The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe
"Faithful and True"
"For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him, Amen, unto the glory of God by us" (II Corinthians 1:20).
Every promise God ever made has either already come to pass, or is in the process of coming to pass. No assurance will fail to be fulfilled if it has not already, and when we open the Bible to seek truth in its purest and most perfect expression, we will not be disappointed.
"Thy Word is truth" declared the Lord Jesus Christ, who is Himself the truth (John 17:17; 14:6). Such wondrous certitude shines with so many affirmations and implications that even eternity will not fully allow for our full discovery of their blessedness. One that glimmers brightly in this present moment involves the fact that whatever our current experience may involve, whether of blessing or challenge, Scripture teems with promises we will see fulfilled as we trust God in expectant confidence. The Apostle Peter referred to them as "exceeding great and precious promises" that apply to every matter of our lives (II Peter 1:4). The God and Father of our Lord Jesus assures us that He will be and do all we need through Christ and the Holy Spirit in every contingency of our lives. He "cannot lie" and "the Scripture cannot be broken" (Titus 1:2; John 10:35). Thus, promises that have ever resided in His heart. and that came to be communicated in space and time by the prophets and the apostles, speak to us in this present hour. Promises such as "His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue" (II Peter 1:3).
What promises speak to your heart and life, and to mine in this present moment? More than we can number. Some, however, will personally and pointedly apply to whatever this day holds, and far more importantly, to Who holds it. The One who cannot lie has made promises, exceeding great and precious promises. All have either come to pass, or will come to pass. Yes, there is Someone to trust in the day and forevermore, Someone who keeps His Word, and who keeps our hearts as we look to Him in faith. Because no one has ever trusted the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and been disappointed for doing so. And no one ever will…
