Orange Moon Friday, January 3, 2025 "No Fear"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe

"No Fear"

"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear" (I John 4:18).

Born again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ trust the God in whom no fear exists.  Indeed, if we could look upon Him, never would we see His brow furrowed, His hands wringing in nervous concern, or beads of sweat falling from a troubled countenance.  Our Lord knows Himself, He knows His creation, and He knows His complete ability to accomplish whatever is required to fulfill "the eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Ephesians 3:11).

This truth better secures our hearts than would the elimination of all fear from our own emotions and sensations.  By definition, believers have committed our care to God.  We seek to "trust the Lord with all thy heart" (Proverbs 3:5).  Thus, in any circumstance, condition, or situation, the remembrance and affirmation of our Heavenly Father's perfect confidence in His care - and His capability to fulfill such confidence - provides powerful assurance to our hearts.  We may not know what or how we will deal with challenges that confront us.  Knowing that God knows, however, and that He forever "abideth faithful" sets our hearts in the proper place of peace since our confidence rests not in ourselves, but in Him (II Timothy 2:13).

"He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool" (Proverbs 28:26).

"We are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh" (Colossians 3:3).

Let us look with the eyes of faith unto the throne of grace.  We will see no fear or uncertainty in its holy Occupant.  Certainly, we will view care for our hearts, and great compassion when we face pains and perplexity.  But no fear.  Our Father knows who He is.  He knows what He can do.  He knows what He will do.  He forever abides at peace with Himself, and in absolute assurance of His capacity to care for us.  The One to whom we have entrusted our well being in this life and forevermore does not wring His hands regarding our challenges.  No sweat falls from His face.  His brow ever abides unfurrowed.  This is peace, perfect peace in Him, and growing peace in us as we see no fear in God, which most inspires the confidence and tranquillity of our hearts.

"Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh.  Is there any thing too hard for Me?"

(Jeremiah 32:27)

Weekly Memory Verse

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for His sake."

(Philippians 1:29)
