Orange Moon Wednesday, April 10, 2024 "Wonders Without Number"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

"Wonders Without Number"

"The greatest reality of every moment is the presence of the God who gives trillions of breaths per second with no strain, and then performs "wonders without number" in more ways and means than we will ever begin to fathom."

"Many, O Lord my God, are Thy wonderful works which Thou hast done, and Thy thoughts which are to usward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto Thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered" (Psalm 40:5).

How innumerable are God's doings for the human race?  Consider the matter of breath.

"He giveth to all… breath" (Acts 17:25).

Approximately 8 billion people currently live on the earth.  We breath on average 18 breaths per minute.  This calculates to 2 and 1/2 trillion breaths per second given by God to human beings.  This does not include the respirations of all other living things.  Thus, in every moment, the Creator of all things gives the gift of air and the capacity to breathe it in a measure far beyond calculation.   "More than can be numbered."

Multiply this by an incalculable measure regarding all else God does at all times, in all places, and in all things.  "God… worketh all things after the counsel of His own will" (Ephesians 1:3; 11).  Indeed, of all Scripture reveals about our Lord, activity shines as one of its brightest illuminations.  Creation teems with its Creator.  God did not merely make a universe, establish its materials and modes, and then leave it to run itself.  He rather dwells in imminent proximity to every atom, and every substance composed by atoms.  "Whither shall I go from Thy Spirit?  Or whither shall I flee from Thy presence?" asked the Psalmist.   He concluded, "Thou art there" regarding all places and venues (Psalm 139:7-8).  Moreover, God is "there" in a measure of activity that would completely overwhelm us if we could view but a glimpse of His "upholding all things by the word of His power" (Hebrews 1:3).

This glory includes the hearts and lives of born believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Not only do "all things" teem with the living God.  Our spirits also serve as the scene of His vibrant presence and working.

"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen" (Ephesians 3:20-21).

Regardless of appearance, perception, sensibility, or how we may feel, the greatest reality of every moment is the presence of the God who gives trillions of breaths per second with no strain, and then performs "wonders without number" in more ways and means than we  will ever begin to fathom (Job 9:10).  In your life and mine, this moment teems with the activity of His heart and hand for the glory of the Lord Jesus, our benefit, and the blessing of those with whom we live our lives.  We will see but a sliver of the activity, mainly, because there is so much to see.  However, we can believe much that the God who "worketh all things after the counsel of His own will" serves as the great fact and reality of creation, and of our hearts and lives.  Our next breath assures us of such wonder, of wonders without number we will better perceive as we more rightly believe.

"For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen."

(Romans 11:36)

Weekly Memory Verse

Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.

(Psalm 100:3)
