Orange Moon Tuesday, September 5, 2023 "The Prevailing Wind"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

"The Prevailing Wind"

"As we set sail on the voyage of each new day, we must give our sails to the prevailing wind, purposed of the Father, and directed by the Holy Spirit: Christ preeminent in all things."

The Lord Jesus Christ forever exists as the God who became man and the man who remains God. He serves as the chief delight of His Father, the One to whom the Holy Spirit directs all glory, the Lamb worshipped by angels, and the beloved Savior of trusting human hearts.  His union of Divine and human nature constitutes Him as the most fascinating subject of both time and eternity.  We can never know enough about Him, nor can we ever love, trust, obey, and honor Him to the degree He merits.

"This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:17).

"When He, the Spirit of truth is come, He shall glorify Me" (John 16:13-14).

"And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever" (Revelation 5:11-13).

"Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen." (Ephesians 3:21).

God the Father purposes the Lord Jesus to "in all things... have the preeminence" (Colossians 1:18).  We must personally affirm the same determination in our hearts.  Our countenance, demeanor, attitudes, words, and actions must in this day shine as a moon that reflects the sun (Son).  Whatever our plans and purposes, this holy aspiration must be primary.  "We are ambassadors for Christ" (II Corinthians 5:20).  The Holy Spirit who ever seeks to glorify and reveal the Lord Jesus dwells within believers to foster the same motivation and outworking of God's grace in our hearts (John 16:14; 15:26-27).  Thus, as we set sail on the voyage of each new day, we must give our sails to the prevailing wind, purposed by the Father, and directed by the Holy Spirit: Christ preeminent in all things.

Much will challenge our determination, including spiritual enemies, the world system, and the flesh of others and of ourselves.  Contrary winds may sometimes blow our ship off course.  As we look to the One we seek to represent, however, He will redirect and maintain our journey toward Heavenly horizons.  We will find our Savior prepared for every contingency that awaits us, from our embarking on the holy voyage, to its eternal journey that will have no end.  Little wonder then that so many unite to proclaim the blessed truth of Christ preeminent.  May this, the prevailing wind of Heaven, lead us both now and forevermore to join our Father, the Holy Spirit, the angels of Heaven, our brothers and sisters, and the Psalms, which close in exultation of glory to our Lord…

"Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord!"
(Psalm 150:6)
"God also hath rightly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
(Philippians 2:9-11)

Weekly Memory Verse
Thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness."
(Nehemiah 9:17)
