"The Joy of Together"
"O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps."
Left to ourselves, the void awaits
with open arms and open gates.
But no glad greeting meets us there,
rather sad welcome to the void, to nowhere.
For we were not made for this,
to be left to ourselves, the lonely abyss
that swallows all who seek on their own
to make their way, their way all alone.
We rather must make our way with Someone,
to journey by Spirit, with Father and Son
in the life of His life, both now and forever
to live in the wonder, the joy of together.
Left to ourselves? Never! But rather
redeemed by the Son, as giv'n of the Father
and graced by the Spirit,
Whose voice, not the void, awaits all who will hear it.
Both now and forever, the joy of together...
the joy of together.
"Fear thou not, for I am with thee."
"In Him we live and move and have our being."
Weekly Memory Verse
I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor anything taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before Him.
