The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…
"Whatsoever Ye Do"
"I have to becomes I get to as we realize that 'whatever ye do' bears the potential for recognizing the presence, involvement, and enabling of the Lord Jesus Christ."
Responsibility becomes privilege when we discover the activities of life as being performed in the Lord's vineyard.
"Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men" (Colossians 3:23).
"I have to" becomes "I get to" as we realize that "whatever ye do" bears the potential for recognizing the presence, involvement, and enabling of the Lord Jesus Christ. God does not categorize our lives into the sacred and the secular as we walk with Him. He rather calls us to the realization that altars exist everywhere for the born again believer. "Heartily, as to the Lord" sanctifies the monumental, the minor, and the mundane as opportunities to realize God's presence and involvement in all things. "I get to" indeed.
If we see our doings as performed with Him and for Him, they take on new meaning. This involves not only obviously spiritual activities. Again, "whatsoever ye do." Household necessities. How we drive our cars. Performing our work. Addressing problems and challenges. Relating to people in any venue. Breathing the next breath in recognition of its being given by God. Or all doings, excepting sin. Anything and everything. Anywhere and everywhere. Any time and all the time. "Whatsoever ye do" means that everything matters, constituting all things as privileged opportunity to please, honor, trust, and obey God. "Whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" (I Corinthians 1:30).
The salvation of the Lord Jesus far more pervades our lives than we sometimes realize. He has infused His life, love, zest and Divine enthusiasm into our hearts and doings. "I am with you always" (Matthew 28:20). We miss the wonder of such grace only because of ignorance, unbelief, and failure to access the ever present abundance of Christ. Our blessed Lord is near - He is here - and purposes to walk with and within us to enable a joyous life of love, faith and obedience in all things. We were made and born again for this, and let us encourage each other continually to open our eyes and see the beauty of the vast vineyard in which we labor. Even more, let us behold the beauty of the vineyard's Master because He privileges us to do all that we do with Him, by Him, and for Him. Yes, whatsoever ye do…
"Glory and honor are in His presence; strength and gladness are in His place."
(I Chronicles 16:27)
"I will dwell in them and walk in them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."
(II Corinthians 6:16)
