Orange Moon Wednesday, December 20, 2023 "He Is, I AM, Thou Art"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

"He Is, I AM, Thou Art"

"As God reveals the truth about Himself through His Spirit, His Word, His church, and His personal working in our hearts and lives, He calls us to respond in a manner whereby principle becomes personal."

"He" must become "Thou" in order to effectually trust the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

""I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and He heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and Thou heardst my voice" (Jonah 2:2; emphasis added).

From an experience beyond our capacity to understand or even imagine, Jonah's confession of the Lord's deliverance proceeded in the same utterance from proclaiming truth about his Deliverer to personal communication with Him.  What he knew to be true - "He heard" led to Who He knew to be the truth - "Thou heardst."

"The Spirit is truth… Thou art true (I John 5:6; Matthew 22:16).

God exists as the most personal and relational of beings, first within His own triune bond of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and then, in His desire for communion with human beings originally created in His image for such sublime purpose.  He made us to dwell with us in living fellowship, so much so that the Holy Spirit dwells within born again believers to reveal an eternally ancient glory of love, again, beyond our capacity to understand or even imagine…

"And the glory which Thou gavest Me I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one, I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one… I have declared unto them Thy name, and will declare it, that the love wherewith Thou hast loved Me may be in them, and I in them" (John 17:22-23; 26).

As God reveals the truth about Himself through His Spirit, His Word, His church, and His personal working in our hearts and lives, He calls us to respond in a manner whereby principle becomes personal.  Of course, we presently "walk by faith, not by sight" (II Corinthians 5:7).  Much flows against the current of walking in relationship and fellowship with God as we and the world are now constituted.  "There are many adversaries" (I Corinthans 16:9).  The Holy Spirit nevertheless works within us to reveal the "He is" truth that leads to God's personal communication of"I AM" to our hearts, and ultimately, to the response of "Thou art" in all who trust the Lord Jesus.

Our Heavenly Father beckons us in this day by His truth and His Spirit to be personal with Him.  Rightly knowing about Him is absolutely vital to consistent fellowship.  Our minds matter much.  "With all thy getting, get understanding" (Proverbs 4:7).  However, truth understood must lead to the heart of God and our own hearts responding in love, faith, and the expectation of living communion with our Lord.  He will not be satisfied with less, nor should we.  The Psalmist well knew this about the living and true God, and we close with his affirmation that must more and more become our affirmation…

"When Thou saidst, Seek ye My face, my heart said unto Thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek."

(Psalm 27:8)

Weekly Memory Verse

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others."
