Orange Moon Wednesday, August 10, 2022 "What Will He Do?"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

               "What Will He Do?"

It is easy to look at the future and wonder regarding some particularly challenging circumstance, "What would I do if that happens?"  That's a fair question, but for those who trust the Lord Jesus Christ, it bows before a better: "What will He do if that happens?"

"When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee" (Isaiah 43:2).

The God who cannot lie promises He will be with us "through the rivers… through the fires… and in the flame."  Moreover, the "foreknowledge" Scripture declares Him to possess does not merely constitute an attribute of our Heavenly Father's nature and being (Acts 2:23).  It rather guides the entirety of His hand's application in our lives.  Born again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ will never face a moment unanticipated by our Father.  He is perfectly prepared for all, and thus perfectly able to be and do everything we will ever need.  He has seen the rivers that threaten.  He knows the fire that menaces.  The flame that portends of harm has long flickered in His eyes.  He is ready, always, forever, and in this moment.

What will He do?  We do not know the details.  We do, however, know the measure and standard:  "As for God, His way is perfect" (II Samuel 22:31).  Such ability, and the foreknowledge that guides it, transcends our understanding.  It does not, however, transcend the faith wrought in us by the Spirit of God and the Word of God.  Indeed, God's perfect anticipation of that which will transpire in our lives must lead to our trusting anticipation that wherever we go, He awaits with the grace we will need on bright summits or in dark valleys.   This is peace, the peace of knowing our Father has forever anticipated every moment of our time and eternity.  He will never be taken by surprise, and He will never be caught short of supply.  What will He do?  This is the question of our tomorrows, and even more, of this day as we walk upon paths perfectly anticipated by our Lord, which assures the perfect application of His heart and hand.

"The Lord thy God, He it is that shall go with thee."
(Deuteronomy 31:6)
"His understanding is infinite."
(Psalm 147:5)

Weekly Memory Verse
