Orange Moon Sunday, June 5, 2022 "The Walk"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

"The Walk

God offers us the possibility to walk with Him today, and in all days, a wonder of grace made possible by an even greater reality:

"I will dwell in them and walk in them" (II Corinthians 6:16).

Yes, the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ lives in born again believers so that we may live through Him.

"God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying Abba Father" (Galatians 4:6)
"In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him" (I John 4:9).

As we consider the gift of potential fellowship with our Heavenly Father in this day, let us realize we set forth on such a journey as led and empowered by the Christ who perfectly knows how to relate to the Father in love, faith, and obedience.  Indeed, without such promised provision, where would we begin in seeking to walk with God?  Surely, "looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" begins with the loving fellowship with the Father that serves as the very heart of our relationship with Him (Hebrews 12:2).  How could we pray, since "we know not what to pray for as we ought? (would we, in fact, pray?).  How could we benefit from the Scriptures that so obviously require the Holy Spirit's illumination and interpretation?  How could we have the audacity to believe an infinite God desires and delights in our fellowship if He did not enable and guide us in our fellowship with Him? (Romans 8:26; I Corinthians 2:10-11; Proverbs 15:8; John 17:25; Romans 5:5).

The Spirit of Christ lives in us so that we may live through Him.  This involves every aspect of our walk with God, including and especially our fellowship with Him that serves as the heart of His grace revealed in us through faith in the Lord Jesus.  As we seek to walk with our Father today, let us rejoice and remember the "Abba Father" of the Lord Jesus dwells within our hearts through the Holy Spirit.  Thereby, we will delight in the God who loves the fellowship of hearts wherein He sees His Son.  Wondrously, the Christ who once walked along the dusty paths of the world He made now walks in the trusting hearts of the sons and daughters He redeemed.  "I will dwell in them and walk in them" proclaims the ancient promise fulfilled in the present moment in all who remember and affirm that "God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying Abba Father."

"In Thy presence is fulness of joy.  At Thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore."
(Psalm 16:11)

Weekly Memory Verse
Not unto us, o Lord, not unto us, but unto Thy name give glory for Thy mercy and Thy truth's sake.
(Psalm 115:1)
