"Known unto God"

"The doings of 8 billion people presently residing on the earth are less than a drop in the human bucket compared to the actions of the living God who, again, perfectly anticipates all He will ever do, and all He does in this moment and forevermore."

"Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world" (Acts 15:18).

Never will our Lord be taken by surprise regarding anything that happens in the world, or in our lives.  "His understanding is infinite" (Psalm 147:5).  He ever knows what He will do, and is thus prepared at all times and in all things to fulfill "the eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Ephesians 3:11).

We have no human frame of reference for such a wonder of perfect knowledge, understanding, and wisdom.  We make our plans regarding how we will act, and may see many come to fruition.  However, the honest heart acknowledges the possibility that often becomes an actuality: "I did not follow my plans and protocols."  Or, as the Apostle Paul confessed, "The good that I would, I do not" (Romans 7:19).

The good that God purposes, He does.  All the time.  In every moment.  In all things.  This includes right now as He "worketh all things after the counsel of His own will" (Ephesians 1:11).  Indeed, what is our Lord presently accomplishing in the world and our lives amid the good, the evil, and the seemingly mundane?  We cannot possibly know more than the merest measure of such presence, involvement, and power.  Someone does know, however, the One who asked the prophet if dry bones could live, and to whom the prophet so wisely responded, "Lord God, Thou knowest" (Ezekiel 37:3).  He does know.  He knows all His works, which comprise the greatest reality and activity in His creation.  Indeed, the doings of 8 billion people presently residing on the earth are less than a drop in the human bucket compared to the actions of the living God who, again, perfectly anticipates all He will ever do, and all He does in this moment and forevermore.

Perhaps you have heard the axiom, "Proper planning prevents poor performance."  Apply the truth to God, but multiply the measure beyond all comprehension:  His proper planning perpetuates perfect performance - "as for God, His way is perfect" (II Samuel 22:31).  Let us also make the matter personal.  Shall the dry bones of our lives live?  Our first answer is, "Lord, Thou knowest."  We then may add humbly, but with confidence based on the Word of God, "Oh yes, they will, based on the promise of the One who imparts the risen life of the Lord Jesus Christ to all who trust Him."   The Apostle Paul referred to such grace as "the exceeding greatness of His power to usward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 1:19-20).  Yes, God knows.  He perfectly and joyfully knows how He will impart the risen life of Christ in this day and this lifetime within our spirits, and along the pathways of life whereupon He will always act as He has always known He would act.  Mystery indeed, and far more, assurance that fills our hearts with peace as we remember the wonder, "Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world."

"For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen."

(Romans 11:36)

Weekly Memory Verse

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (love), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal."

 (I Corinthians 13:1).
