Orange Moon Monday, June 17, 2024 "The Keeper (of Promises)"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

"The Keeper (of Promises)"

"A perfect Keeper of all His promises exists, promises made for the glory of His Son, and the benefit of all who trust Him through Christ."

"For all the promises of God in Him (Christ) are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us" (II Corinthians 1:20).

Every promise God has made in His Word has either already been fulfilled, or is in the process of being perfectly kept.  From salvation and the new birth for all who trust the Lord Jesus, to the eternal blessedness of our Lord's redeeming work on our behalf, all shall come to pass.  It cannot be otherwise for the God who "cannot lie" and whose "faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds" (Titus 1:2; Psalm 36:5).

This truth of unrivaled encouragement and comfort becomes all the more blessed when we remember the Apostle Peter's characterization regarding God's assurances: "Exceeding great and precious promises" (II Peter 1:4).  Throughout Scripture, words like "all… every… marvelous … glorious… wondrous… abundant" describe our Heavenly Father's devotion to His stated commitments, and to our everlasting benefit by His fulfillment of them.  In a present lifetime of challenges that tempt our confidence, we must encourage one another with the remembrance of promises that will not only be kept, but kept according to the measure of "exceeding great and precious."

A perfect Keeper of all His promises exists, promises made for the glory of His Son, and the benefit of all who trust Him through Christ.  This day offers opportunity and necessity of believing the Keeper's pledges, and we will not be disappointed as we do.  Thus, we do well to remember promises already discovered in the pages of His Word, and find others we may not have fully embraced.  We live by such truth as God's perfect faithfulness unites with our faith to honor the One in whom "all the promises of God in Him are yea."

"Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers."

(Romans 15:8)

Weekly Memory Verse
