"The God Factor (or, "Wake Up!)" 

"Whatever the world, the devil, and the flesh may be doing, the fact to be first and foremost factored is the presence and involvement of the living and true God."

    

   Have we factored God into the equation of every matter of our lives?

    "In all Thy ways acknowledge Him" (Proverbs 3:6).

   The perfect answer would be, "Well yes, I have!"  In this present life, however, the actual answer for every believer must be, "Well, as a matter of principle and doctrine, I believe God serves as the greatest and most dynamic aspect of all my ways.  However, I am sure there are specific matters regarding such grace I have not considered, and some in which I have not genuinely believed."

    Personally, I too often find myself in a slumber regarding the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ as the great fact to be factored in all things.  Surely, the Apostle Paul referenced folks like myself when he wrote, "Awake to righteousness, and sin not" (I Corinthians 15:34).  Moses also speaks to us regarding this vital and ongoing remembrance…

   "Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord, He is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else" (Deuteronomy 4:39).

   Whatever the world, the devil, and the flesh may be doing, the fact to be first and foremost factored is the presence and involvement of the living and true God.  He resides and works amid all things in ways to be considered in the heart, despite such wonder never being fully understood with the mind.  How He does what He does ever remains an enigma of "ways past finding out" (Romans 11:33).  That He does what He does must increasingly become the faith of our hearts.  "In all thy ways acknowledge Him…"

   If we could audibly hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, "Wake up!" would often sound and resound as He seeks to reveal the presence and working of God in every aspect of our lives.  It is far from enough to merely know this truth in general terms of doctrine and principle.  We must apply it in the specifics of life as we find it, and as it finds us.  Or rather, as we find God opening the eyes of our hearts to discover Him as the greatest reality of all things.  The God factor - the factor of every moment of this life, and the ongoing opportunity and challenge of walking with Him by waking up to Him.

"In Him we live and move and have our being."

(Acts 17:28)

"God… worketh all things after the counsel of His own will."

(Ephesians 1:3; 11)
