"The Inseparable Union"

Truth and love are inseparably united.
"Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love" (II John 1:3).
If we know truth in terms of God and His Word, love will flow unto, within, and through us. If we love, as led by God and His Word, we will grow in the knowledge of truth. We walk in truth as the indwelling love of Christ leads us in sacrificial devotion to God and others. He made humanity in His image for this, to be the reflections of His nature and character. Sin gravely distorted this "truth and love" reason for our being. Salvation through the Lord Jesus, however, results from believing the truth, which then graces us with "the love of God… shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us" (Ephesians 1:13; Romans 5:5).
The world defines love in countless ways that have little to do with truth. Or, it views truth apart from the love of God, an omission that makes impossible proper relationship to reality. Our Lord "is love." He also affirms, "I am… the truth" (I John 4:8; John 14:6). Thus, any quest to know either truth or love apart from the living and true God ends before it begins. Moreover, seeking truth alone, or love by itself, can also never result in knowing either. When our Lord explains - truth - He does so always as the expression of His nature - love. When He graciously blesses His creation - love - He never deviates from who He is, and of reality as He made it - truth.
"In truth and love" declared the Apostle John of God's "grace, mercy, and peace" that will only be found as we realize the sublime union of inseparable glories known only together, forever…
"All His works are done in truth. He loveth righteousness and judgment."
(Psalm 33:4-5)
