Orange Moon Tuesday, July 25, 2023 "Sent and Went"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

"Sent and Went"

"A perfectly atoning earthly work unites with a perfect faithful Heavenly ministry to ensure the salvation of all who trust the Lord Jesus."

"Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the apostle and high priest of our profession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him that appointed Him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house" (Hebrews 3:1).

In order to fulfill His redemptive purpose, the Lord Jesus Christ came to earth as the sent one - "apostle" - and went back to Heaven to fulfill His eternal role as our mediator - "high priest."

"I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but He sent Me" (John 8:42)
"He ever liveth to make intercession for them" (Hebrews 7:25).

A perfectly atoning earthly work unites with a perfect faithful Heavenly ministry to ensure the salvation of all who trust the Lord Jesus.  Our Savior fulfilled everything God the Father sent Him to do for us in life, death, and resurrection.  He now fulfills everything we require to vouchsafe our relationship with God eternally, and in this day.  What has Christ done?  What is He doing?  What will He do forevermore?  Greater understanding and response to these truths will go far to encourage our faithfulness by His faithfulness.  "Consider the apostle and high priest… who was faithful."

In times of temptation to falter, we look to the unfailing Lord Jesus as the motivating and empowering source of our strength to continue.  Realizing how perfectly He completed the earthly mission for which He was sent, and how persistently He accomplishes the Heavenly ministry for which He went back to Heaven, enables our own determination to take the next step of trustworthiness.  The current of our faithfulness always flows from the wellspring of Christ's faithfulness.  Thus, we look back upon the glorious One sent to "fulfill all righteousness" (Matthew 3:15).  And we look up to the blessed One who went back from whence He came by way of the cross and the empty tomb to forever serve as the basis of our relationship with God.  Let us consider Him indeed, and let us rejoice in so great a Savior, and so complete the salvation He purchased and maintains.

"Now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself."
(Hebrews 9:26)
"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
(I Peter 2:5)

Weekly Memory Verse
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
(Ephesians 5:8)
