Orange Moon Monday, October 3, 2022 “Consistent, Persistent, and Insistent”

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

               "Consistent, Persistent, and Insistent"

God is consistent, persistent, and insistent that we join Him in our own consistency and persistence, as enabled by Him.

"Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever" (Hebrews 13:8).
"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6).
"It is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful" (I Corinthians 4:2).

We shall find the Lord today who He was yesterday.  His infinitely dogged determination to be who He is and do what He does abides forevermore.  Such enduring integrity of character and action provides a significant aspect of why we can so trust Him, and why He will never disappoint us when we do.  It also calls us to seek growth regarding our own faithful devotion to Him and to His purposes in our lives.  "Beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, we are changed into the same image, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (II Corinthians 3:18).

Challenges regarding our own faithfulness must direct our rapt focus and attention on the faithfulness of God.  The better we fill heart and mind with the truth of His perfect trustworthiness, the more our consistent, persistence trustworthiness will abide and grow.  Born again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ exist as moons to His sun, absorbing His light and energy, and then serving as reflections of His character, nature, and way.  Thus, we seek to "grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," knowing we will thereby find our own determination and application to faithfulness flowing as tributaries of His ever flowing river.  "He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water" (II Peter 3:18; John 7:38).

We must find out what God calls us to do in the venues and along the pathways of our lives.  Then, we must do it consistently, persistently, and in the light of His gracious insistence that we absorb His faithful character and reflect it ever more brightly and relentlessly.  Our Father does not and will not rest in the holy endeavor.  Nor should we.

"Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more."
(I Thessalonians 4:1)

Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
