Orange Moon Saturday, September 17, 2022 "The Swift Runner"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

               "The Swift Runner"

Our Lord ever works through the agency of the Spirit of God, the Word of God, and the church of God to lead human hearts to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and to a life of faithfulness in those who believe.

"The word of the truth of the Gospel, which is come unto you, as it is in all the world, and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth" (Colossians 1:5-6).

We cannot see the spiritual realm with our physical eyes.  If we could, disturbing images of malevolent entities would parade before us, described by the Apostle Paul as "principalities… powers… the rulers of the darkness of this world… spiritual wickedness in high places" (Ephesians 6:12).  We would rightly be troubled because these enemies of God and of human hearts would be far more clearly seen for the harm they do.  However, our view would be quickly diverted to another greater influence, of continual working in the midst of all.

"He sendeth forth His commandment upon earth: His word runneth very swiftly" (Psalm 147:15).

Without ignoring or minimizing the effect of evil in the world, born again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ must affix our gaze upon the infinitely greater effect of God's swiftly running word.  Amid all, God's grace and truth perpetually race through the world in mostly quiet and unseen ways that, could we see the unseen, would amaze us.  Consider the unjust trial, the torturous inquisition, the cross of Calvary, and our Lord's death thereon.  How devilish was that?  However, do we primarily view it in such terms?  Hardly.  Indeed, believers rather know the darkness of our Lord's suffering and death to be the greatest revelation of His light ever to shine in a dark world.

"He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: by His knowledge shall My righteous Servant justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities" (Isaiah 53:11).

Our very salvation hinges upon the swift Runner who raced to redemption amid hosts of devils who sought His demise and destruction.  Through human hands, they had their way for a brief season.  However, divine hands, pierced by nails, transcended and overwhelmed their seeming triumph - as it does and will in these days and in all to come.  Relentless indeed is the swift runner.   His ongoing and unstoppable work of redemption speeds amid foes already defeated in the ultimate sense, and presently overcome in a realm we cannot see, but which we know to be the scene of the risen and triumphant Christ.

Sometimes it seems that the enemy of our soul wins
over and over and over and over again.
But if we could see the Truth much more clearly, my friend,
we'd see Christ triumph over death, hell, and sin,
over and over and over and over again…

Over and over and over and over again.

The Tomb is empty, the Throne above occupied.
For Christ is risen again, from death glorified.
So remember when hot, stinging tears fill your eyes,
the triumph He's shone so many times in our lives,
over and over and over and over again…

Over and over and over and over again.

Forever draws nigh, we will be with Him there soon, my friend.
The trials of this life will be gone when we're with Him in Heaven.
Glories we'll see, majesty without end,
that sing the glad hymn, Christ is risen again,
over and over and over and over again…

Over and over and over and over again.

"And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it."
(Colossians 2:15)
"This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."
(I John 5:4)

Weekly Memory Verse
The meek will He guide in judgment: and the meek will He teach His way.
(Psalm 25:9)
