Orange Moon Thursday, April 14, 2022 "One By One By One By One"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

"One By One By One By One"

In the most pointed and powerful doctrinal treatise ever written, the Apostle Paul concludes his epistle to the Romans by mentioning twenty nine fellow believers individually by name.

"I commend unto you Phebe our sister… Greet Priscilla and Aquila… Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus…" (Romans 16:1; 3; 5).

Principled doctrine and personal devotion revealed the love of the Lord Jesus Christ in Paul.  Doubtless, the Savior never saw a crowd in His life.  He rather saw people one by one by one.  He will emphasize the same as He spiritually walks in us, leading us in the dedication of hearts whereby all matter to God.  The more we know our Lord and His truth, the more we will realize He looks upon billions of souls not en masse, but rather one by one by one by one.

"The very hairs of your head are all numbered" (Matthew 10:30).
"He giveth to all life and breath and all things" (Acts 17:25).

We do not possess the omniscient capacity to know more than a relative few people in personal terms.  However, it is enough to know that God can, and God does.  Hiding this truth deeply within our hearts will enable us, like Paul, to see the truth of the Gospel as it applies to people in our sphere of influence by name, and by heart.  The Apostle who communicated with many nevertheless followed his Lord by devotion to others in the most personal terms.  The epistle that begins with "To all that be in Rome" concludes with "Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas" (Romans 1:7; 16:15).  Herein, the love of Christ shined brightly in Paul, as it will in us as we realize and devote ourselves to "one by one by one by one."

"Greet the friends by name."
(III John 1:14)

Weekly Memory Verse
The Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many.
(Matthew 20:28)
