Orange Moon Wednesday, March 16, 2022 "His Faithful Guidance"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

"His Faithful Guidance"

Wisdom, the applied knowledge of what to do and when to do it, is always available to born again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

"Christ Jesus… is made unto us wisdom" (I Corinthians 1:30).

As we trust and submit to God, He promises to lead us in accordance with His glory and will.  Of course, we may not plainly see the path that lies before us until we must travel upon it.  Or, to borrow another analogy, the lights of the runway do not shine until we are ready to land.  Our calling involves trusting that our Heavenly Father will make His way known when we need to know it.

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord" (James 1:5-7).

Our Heavenly Father requires faith as the conduit through which His wisdom flows.  We must make the choice to trust Him even when our way seems dark and the next step uncertain.  We will be tempted to waver, as James suggests.  Our thoughts, emotions, and even physical sensations may challenge our chosen confidence.  We nevertheless maintain the affirmation within our hearts that God will lead us, and also will empower us to walk upon His chosen path for us.  "The path of the just is as the shining light, which shineth more and more unto the perfect day" (Proverbs 4:18).

Our Shepherd leads His flock.  Of this we can be sure.  In times when we don't know where to go, we do know to Whom we must go.  Believers have entrusted time and eternity to the God who promises to make His way plain as the gift of His care for us, received by the faith of our confidence in Him.  He will not disappoint us, and we will greatly honor Him by refusing to waver as we wait upon and expect His faithful guidance.

"Trust in the Lord with all thy heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths."
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
