Orange Moon Monday, November 8, 2021 “The Assumption, the Affirmation”

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

"The Assumption, the Affirmation"

In its opening statement, Scripture assumes the fact and existence of God.

"In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth" (Genesis 1:1).

The Bible furthermore declares that the Lord so fills and involves Himself in His creation that the great assumption, as it were, is confirmed in all things.

"The invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and godhead" (Romans 1:20).

"The assumption" could actually be termed "the affirmation."  Everything in the universe declares the "I AM" of God.  All things whisper the message.  All things speak the truth.  All things shout the reality.  "The true Light… lighteth every man that cometh into the world" (John 1:9).  Even a fallen devil bears witness to his Maker, whose Biblically-declared character requires that if He makes conscious beings, they must be free to either receive or reject Him.  "Choose you this day whom ye will serve" (Joshua 24:15).  The devil chose poorly, of course, but even in his catastrophic moral error, confirmed the moral nature of God.  Moreover, the bluster of the most ardent human atheist requires the breath supplied by the One who "giveth to all life and breath and all things" (Acts 17:25).

Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ ever occupy the high ground as we seek to add our voices to the assumption and the affirmation.  Let devils and the wicked fight as they will against the reality that incessantly declares its reality and tortures their souls.  God nevertheless whispers, God speaks, God shouts on the pages of Scripture, and along every pathway of His creation.  He also grants believers great privilege to serve as His mouthpiece, and with great confidence to bear witness to the assumption and the affirmation.  This day will offer such opportunity.  Let us therefore attune our own hearts to the sounding and resounding Voice, and to serve as its vehicle whereby our personal sphere of influence hears through us the ongoing declaration: "I AM."

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth His handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world."
(Psalm 19:1-4)
