Orange Moon Saturday, July 3, 2021 “7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000” Or… “Intimate, Intricate, Incessant"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

"7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000"

Or…

"Intimate, Intricate, Incessant"

Biologists tell us our bodies are composed of interrelated components and systems at the molecular level more vastly complex and coordinated than we can imagine.  The Psalmist told us that many centuries ago.

"I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14).

The human body consists of 7 billion, billion, billion atoms (7, followed by 27 zeros).  The Lord has His eye - and His heart - on every one of them.  "By Him all things consist" (Colossians 1:17).  Moreover, to maintain our earthly existence, He coordinates the place, position, and movement of all.  The intricacy of such wisdom, power, and attention completely overwhelms our comprehension.  However, consider even more the wonder of the far more important matters of our relationship to Him, and a life lived "of Him, through Him, and to Him" (Romans 11:36).

"The Lord looketh on the heart… Out of it (the heart) are the issues of life" (I Samuel 16:7; Proverbs 4:23).

God's gaze upon our hearts involves not that of a disinterested observer, but rather of One pointedly active, involved, and engaged with complete intensity of purpose.  He works in every aspect of the believer's life to fulfill His determination to conform us to the spiritual and moral image of the Lord Jesus (Romans 8:28-29).  He weaves everything into this work of grace, including the things He directly determines, and the things He allows.  Nothing escapes His attention and uncanny ability to coordinate all things for the glory of the Lord Jesus, and "the hope of glory, which is Christ in you" (Colossians 1:27).

A gaze upon the molecular level of our bodies would leave us astounded, bewildered, and overcome by God's presence and pointed involvement.  However, a gaze upon our hearts would make His physical activity seem rudimentary.  Our Heavenly Father relentlessly works to reveal Christ in our demeanor, attitudes, words, and works.  The things that happen to us bear more significance than our highest conception of God's involvement in our lives.  7 billion, billion, billion atoms bear witness to such "fearfully and wonderfully made" handiwork in our bodies, and even more, to His intimate, intricate, and incessant working in our hearts.

"God… worketh all things after the counsel of His own will… There is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by Him."
(Ephesians 1:3; 11; I Corinthians 8:6)

Weekly Memory Verse
"The Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."
(Luke 19:10)
