Orange Moon Cafe "The Heart That Promised, the Hand That Fulfilled"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe...

"The Heart That Promised, the Hand That Fulfilled"

There is somebody - Somebody - to trust.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6).

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ is that somebody.  Through Christ and by the Holy Spirit, we can place confidence in Him with all our hearts because He is perfectly trustworthy.  Of no other can this be said.  We all know consistently trustworthy people.  However, through neglect or circumstances, human beings let each other down at times.  This is never the case with God.  Indeed, no one has ever trusted Him and been disappointed for doing so.  And no one ever will.  He is perfectly faithful and perfectly true.  He cannot lie, and every promise He has ever made has either already been fulfilled, or will be.  "All His works are done in truth" (Psalm 33:4).

The matter at hand, whatever its mode or measure, affords the opportunity to yet again discover the faithfulness of God.  A decisive response of faith on our part will usher us on another voyage of discovery whereby our Father yet again amazes us by His devoted involvement, wisdom, provision, and care.  He will work according to His understanding and purpose, of course, and our journey may wind along pathways that challenge our confidence.  At the end of the day, however, we will look back in awe to see the Heart that promised and the Hand that fulfilled.  "Because Thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of Thy wings will I rejoice" (Psalm 63:7).

There is Somebody to trust in this day and forevermore.  There is Somebody to trust about the matters of this moment.  We will not be disappointed as we bring our hearts to the God of perfect faithfulness, "casting all your cares upon Him, for He careth for you" (I Peter 5:7).  Because no one has ever trusted in the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and been disappointed for doing so.  And no one ever will.

"As for God, His way is perfect."

(II Samuel 22:31)

"His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in Him."

(Lamentations 3:22-24)

"Thy Word is truth."

(John 17:17)

Weekly Memory Verse

"Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."

 (Psalm 119:105)
