(Friends, each Saturday this year, we are sending the lyrics and a recorded version of one of our songs. This week's edition is entitled "Lord of Grace." The song was originally written with completely different lyrics for an organization that honors military veterans. Opportunity was limited for singing it with that, so I wrote a new set of lyrics devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us. We hope you find it encouraging. Thanks, Glen).
The Lord of Grace
Words and Music by Glen Davis
Sometimes I think about Him,
Of His suffering on the tree.
And I realize how very little
I know the price He paid for
me.
(The Lord of grace, how much He gave,
The Lord of grace, I cannot repay
My dear Lord of grace).
A crown of thorns, a cruel scourge,
A cross of agony His
lifeblood purged.
But most of all, a heart
disowned,
“My God, My God” He cried,
He cried all alone.
(The Lord of grace, how much He gave,
The Lord of grace, I cannot repay
My dear Lord of grace).
Forever and ever
we’ll sing the praise,
Of such a Savior, so good and
great.
And we will love Him as He
loves us,
Our hearts united by grace
and trust.
(The Lord of grace, how much He gave,
The Lord of grace, I cannot repay
My dear Lord of grace.)
