The Saturday Series - 8 - “All Things Well, All Things Wisely, Always”

(Friends:  Most Saturdays for the duration of this year, I plan on sharing a message that relates to the character and nature of God, and our response thereunto.  I hope you will find it helpful, and as always, thanks for allowing us to send the devotionals to you.  Glen).

The Saturday Series - 8

"All Things Well, All Things Wisely, Always"

God always and perfectly knows what to do.  Moreover, He always and perfectly knows when and how to do it.  This is wisdom, the wisdom of One whose "way is perfect" in accordance with His capacity to flawlessly apply knowledge and understanding (II Samuel 22:31).

"O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!" (Romans 11:33).

It is one thing to possess knowledge.  It is another to coordinate the possession of facts into a body of understanding.  Wisdom involves the capacity to act in a manner that rightly utilizes the organized facts.  In God, this ability is eternally, infinitely, and pristinely without error.  He has never acted unwisely, again, according to His own standard of perfection.  Nor will He ever do so.  This constitutes one of our Lord's most amazing qualities, and one for which we do well to frequently offer the most heartfelt praise and admiration.  "God is mighty in strength and wisdom!" (Job 36:5).

We may sometimes wonder about God's ways in our lives, in the world, and in history.  His determinations and allowances far transcend our capacity for complete understanding.  "Why has He acted in that way...  How does this work of the Lord fit into His purposes...  When will He bring our challenge to an end?"  The questions come to mind in any honest believer who walks with the Lord.  That which we must never question, however, is God's wisdom regarding the why, how and when.  He can do nothing that does not rise to the level of perfection in the execution of everything He does.  Everything.  It was said of the Lord Jesus Christ during His earthly life and ministry, "He hath done all things well" (Mark 7:37).  Such excellence in time reflected the Divine perfection of eternity, from everlasting to everlasting.  Yes, God will act wisely, perfectly wisely, in this moment, just as He has always has, and just as He always will.  All things well, all things wisely, always.

This means that we can entrust our yesterdays, todays, and tomorrows into safe Hands, as guided by a sublime Heart, and a superlative Mind.  We will not always understand God's wisdom or the manner in which it guides His actions.  But we can know with absolute certainty that He acts perfectly wisely in everything He does, including our lives.  He knows all about us, His understanding coordinates every moment of our existence in both time and eternity.  He acts in pristinely executed wisdom regarding His determinations and allowances.  Little wonder that the Apostle Paul exulted that our Lord works all thing together for good in the lives of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).  It could not be otherwise in One who does all things well, all things wisely, always.

"He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment."
(Deuteronomy 32:4)

Weekly Memory Verse
He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
(Romans 8:32)
