Orange Moon "Thursday, September 4 2025 "All... Not One Thing"

The Special of the Day… From the Orange Moon Cafe…

"All… Not One Thing"

"The Lord shall be thy confidence" (Proverbs 3:26).

Confidence can be defined as an expected outcome of benefit.  For the born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, this involves faith in the God who has made promises He will faithfully and perfectly fulfill…

"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6).

The Lord is our confidence.  We must seek by faith to be confident in Him and His promised working.  The Holy Spirit ever works to lead us to the "exceeding great and precious promises" that await us in the Scriptures, whereby "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (II Peter 1:4; Romans 10:17).  Indeed, growing confidence involves one of the primary reasons we read and ponder the Bible, especially in a world that will strip us of hope if we do not avail ourselves of the assurances God has communicated and cannot fail to fulfill.  As Joshua declared to Israel upon his departure from an earthly lifetime in which he discovered the most important reality the believer can know...

"And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof" (Joshua 23:14).

"All are come to pass… not one thing hath failed thereof."  In one of the great utterances expressed in human history, Joshua provides the basis of confidence for every moment of our existence in both time and forevermore.  The God who "cannot lie" kept His promises to Israel amid challenges that would have destroyed the nation were the Lord not perfectly faithful (Titus 1:2).  He is, and thus our confidence in Him rests in the safest haven imaginable, and that one venue wherein all comes to pass and nothing fails thereof.  "Great is Thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in Him" (Lamentations 3:23-24).

If confidence does not fill our hearts, our focus is misdirected.  Our Heavenly Father has made promises for both time and eternity He cannot and will not fail to keep.  Most involve our heart, the inner spiritual sanctum that can presently rest in peace regardless of whatever may approach the outer courts of our being.  "The Prince of peace" dwells therein (Isaiah 9:6).  Are we confident He merits this title, whether in still waters or upon raging seas?  As believers, we know He is worthy as a matter of fact.  Christ is our confidence.  That which awaits is our determination to look only to Him for the "expected outcome of benefit."   We shall not be disappointed as we do, because no one has ever trusted the Prince and been disappointed for doing so.  And no one ever will.  This is our confidence.  He is our confidence.  All are come to pass… not one thing hath failed.

"It was impossible for God to lie."

(Hebrews 6:18)

Weekly Memory Verse

But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

 (Philippians 4:19)
