"Provision… Problem"
It is one thing to have provision for needs. It is another to know it.
"His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue" (II Peter 1:3).
The Lord Jesus Christ had performed His redeeming work on our behalf through death, resurrection, and ascension long before our conception and birth. We did not receive His grace, however, until God's revelation through the Holy Spirit, creation, the Scriptures, and the Gospel became known to us. We cannot believe in something of which we are not aware, including and especially the most important matter of our existence. This applies not only to the beginning of our relationship with God, but to it's continuance.
"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God" (I Corinthians 2:12).
The Christian life involves the availing of ourselves to "all things that pertain unto life and godliness" and "the things that are freely given to us of God." His supply ever precedes our need, again, just as Christ had died and risen for us before our existence. It often does not seem this way as the challenges of life present themselves. It always is this way, however. By faith, we must believe that God's supply awaits our recognition and affirmation that, regardless of earthly evidence, He is at hand and in heart with provision that precedes our need.
"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment… My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (John 7:24; Philippians 4:19).
Thankfully, our Heavenly Father manifests His provision according to His wisdom, knowledge, and purpose rather than ours. We would all make a terrible mess of things if we had a say in how and when God's abiding supply becomes open and obvious. Our calling involves the chosen confidence to believe that long before we existed, our Lord prepared His provision for every moment of present lives and forevermore. He is Himself the very heart of our provision, as the Apostle Paul affirmed in the reference above, "All your need… by Christ Jesus" (emphasis added).
No greater challenge exists than walking in the determination to join Moses, who "endured as seeing Him who is invisible" (Hebrews 11:27). Trusting God in a fallen world requires growing knowledge of Him, and the Scriptural awareness of His presence, promises, and provision. An open Bible, a prayerful heart, fellowship with other believers, and the expectation of our Heavenly Father's faithful working guides us in the light of the provision that ever precede the problem.
"He that spared not His own Son, but hath delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"
(Romans 8:32)
Weekly Memory Verse
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
(I Corinthians 2:12)
